It’s an over-used expression but all layouts will have more realistic scenics using grass tufts. Look across any field, round any post and there are tufts or longer blades of grass.

So easy to use, just peel from the backing sheet with tweezers, a dab of white glue and apply.

Rural railway lines and water features are a magnet for tufts. The low-tack backing film is typically 4" x 6" and the number of tufts can reasonably be described as plenty.
